Yup, and at break time, Justin Timberlake exposes Janet Jackson's nipple jewelry for the half time show. |

| I watched this once, since there were quite a few Americans when I was at college. It would have been 2003. It was absolutely mind-numbing. Constant dithering and interruptions, with no perceivable shape to it. And it dragged on and on and on. |

American football is an allegory to war - teams mount offensive drives, capture land to reach a goal line. A strict chain of command from Generals (head coaches), to lietentants (Quarterbacks) to infantry (lineman). It is a brutally tough sport - some of these guys are 6 feet 7 and and 320 pounds and still run 4.6 second 40-yard dashes. Pads are not used solely for protecction but to apply leverage (think battering rams). Many of the wide receivers and defensive backs could be competitve Olympic sprinters - some have been.
I realize it is a hard game to learn - it is far more complicated than soccer or basketball - and I have played all three - but it is an incredible game. I am not a fan of war as much of movies about war and I think for this reason I love football.
I also know it will be hard to convince people from elsewhere that its a great game - but its worth giving a look.

Colts by 14. I don't even know if that is a possible score margin. |

Geez, there's such a difference between backing a team and picking the spread. All the odds makers this week are favoring Chicago, so if I pick Chicago with a small spread, and the Colts win, I win. But I don't wanna pick Chicago. So. What to do. I've got to pick the Colts, if only out of regional loyalty and my sheer desire to see them win.

I have seen mostly Colts by about 7.
To Foxy's point, any point spread is possible and nearly any number value of 2 or more could be a score.
Safety: 2 points Field Goal: 3 points Touchdown: 6 points (option to kick for 1 extra point or run a play for 2 extra points)
So with Safeties and field goals and possibilities of 1 or 2 extra points you can get to virtually any score.

Da Colts will win 31-17, and Peyton will win MVP. In the event Chicago win (otherwise known as the Apocalypse) it'll be a far lower scoring affair with Urlacher or Jones as MVP.
You heard it here first. |

Your mouth to God's ear. That's a fairly widespread, schoon, but not unprecedented in the Superbowl. Out of the 40 previous championships, 22 have had a 14 or more point spread (including a 55-10 win by the San Francisco 49ers over Denver in 1990). |

Not to mention 1986 Super Bowl XX - Bears 46, Patriots 10. I hope to see a play for play re-enactment with the Colts substituting for the Patriots - of course in that game the starting QB for New England only made it two series as the Bears pretty much scared him out of football - I don't imagine this is going to happen with Peyton, but I'd love to see it!!
