i have some old Superman cartoons on dvd. i'm amazed at how violent they are. the animation is also surprisingly good.
and, get this, it also features as a bonus some episodes of the cartoon Fraidy Cat. that was awful.

i wish they'd have on dvd the show "Strange Luck." it was brilliant and was the lead-in for "X-Files" for a while. it was about a guy named Chance who had instances of ridiculously bad and good luck. when he was a child, everyone, including his parents, died in a plane crash, except Chance. he'd go in a diner with no money, order and eat his food, then by a lottery ticket and win ... just enough to pay for his meal.
i'd also like to see "Significant Others" on dvd. (just checked amazon and they have it, though only one season. placed it in the shopping cart.) it was a comedy, that focused on a few couples. each episode opened and closed with a couple at a time on the couch talking to their therapist facing the screen, as if the viewer is the therapist. mostly ad-libbed, hilarious.
i also plan on buying Dexter and Reno 911.

My good wife and I 'surprise' each other for our birthdays with our favourite DVD series.

We currently have all 4 series of Coupling (sorry Chocolate Lady), and the first 4 series of Scrubs.

Coupling is definitely a guilty pleasure that we've had great fun passing onto friends.

They can have as much guilty pleasures in Coupling between themselves as they like. And as for passing on to friends... what happens between consulting adults...

(I am SOOOOOOOO jealous that you have all four seasons of "Coupling" on DVD.)

Okay -- my list:

What I currently have:
All the Buffy The Vampire Slayers (and I do watch them)
All of Nip/Tuck to date (and I have watched them)
Pride & Prejudice (and I watch it over and over)
A few Mary Tyler Moore Shows (viewed once)

I've purchased for my husband, but he's never viewed:
Band of Brothers

What I'd love to have someday:

The Wonder Years

What I wouldn't mind having:

Seinfeld (only, it's on all the time right now, so don't need)
Twilight Zone
Six Feet Under
Sopranos (the rest)
Deadwood
SNL (the early seasons)
My So-Called Life
All In The Family

What I can't imagine a person would ever want a copy of:
Gilligan's Island

Can't imagine why you would watch any of that.

As Randall has pointed out, guilty pleasure.
It's just so silly that it makes me laugh, funnier that some of the kid shows that are put out these days. I was shocked to find out that a niece of mine (13yr old) that lives in another state has the complete series too. I never told her about it, maybe her dad was a fan too. Besides, Maryanne was hot.

That's a good one. I could imagine watching those again. I watched those in about 1985, I think it was on Thursday nights and it preceded The Invaders. Wouldn't have missed either of them for the world.

I could totally imagine watching The Invaders again.

There's nothing quite like '60's action/sci-fi.

Are you kidding me? Have you seen Nip/Tuck? As a male, you should be all over that show. It's porn with a plot. As a female, I am kinda embarrassed to say that I like it. But, it has a soap opera format that appeals to me. And I don't mind blood and gore.

I won't discuss Buffy with you. Either you love it, or you don't. But it was a great show. And I miss it. Especially, Spike.

(That brings me to another topic. We should add a smilie that has a tear like it's crying. Why don't we have that one?)

EM :)

It's no Six Feet Under but I still love it. Like with most good American television series, it is no longer on proper television series over here. Lost is the worst case of this. I'm hesitant to start buying the box sets as once it is over there is sure to be a super-duper box set. Luckily I have got the third series from the Internet c/o a colleague. I am really pompous about this sort of thing with films, and have a go at people who offer me knock-off D.V.D.s in the street (which happens a lot in Peckham), but at heart with television programmes I feel I have a right to see them. I'm also more than happy to cheat Rupert Murdoch out of money (and I would never subscribe to Sky even if that was the only way of seeing any programme).

Yep, it's just awesome. I always used to think of this as the first non-children's novel I read, but I don't know why since I had read Nineteen Eighty-Four at least a year before. Anyway, the novel's great and the adaptation is perfect. There is therefore now no point in ever doing another film version, so it is completely ridiculous that there have been at least three since then.
