************** SPOILER *************
If you havent seen all of season 8 - this thread contains spoilers
*****************************
Anyone else a bit confused about the CSI actors departure from the series. Was it a case of " I have to leave to pursue other projects" or " You're canned "? |

I was shocked when I saw the season finale. I had been unaware of Dourdan's arrest. Too bad he wasn't as self-controlled as he is beautiful.
I was also shocked at the season finale of "Bones" where they had David, the young Jeffersonian Inst. technician turn out to be the sidekick of the serial killer. I don't think that makes sense at all. How are we suddenly to believe that he was 'weak minded?' Or, did the actor who played him get into trouble also? |

I read the mentions of his leaving in the reports on the arrest, but then I saw the season finale and I wasn't at all sure the character was dead. Dying, yes, but it seemed a little ambiguous to me. It's sort of like the questionable accident that Jorja Fox's character had... is she or isn't she?
But, no, the season finale had already been filmed. The CBS spokesman probably declined to comment on how the arrest would affect the production because it would spoil the episode.
I love CSI, don't much care for its two spin-offs, but I have to admit that oft times I'm puzzled by the avenues its characters take. |

| The unofficial official reason for not returning, according to TV Guide was "chronic tardiness". |

I don't care for the NY and Miami spinoffs either, but that's because of the supporting casts. Well, I don't care for Caruso in Miami, either. I like Sinise very much, but I just can't see past the dreadful NY supporting cast. The gal with the big hair bugs the hell out of me. |

That is my take on them as well!! Don't like Caruso, never have. Love Sinise, but it's more than the supporting cast - this spin-off is slicker, more spit and polished and I like the details in CSI. Maybe it's that interest in forensics coming out of the psych thing.
