I signed up for a Twitter account several months ago to see what the fuss is about, but I still don't "get it."

Can anyone explain why it is so wonderful?

Seems to me that the people who like it are the same kinds of folks who have the compulsion to talk incessantly on their cell phones while driving or shopping.

And, in contrast to Tea Parties, here I completely agree with you.

What's there not to get about Tea Parties?

Oops: I just read the other thread.

Yeah: what is up with this twitter? I'm not much moved to keep a running commentary about what I'm doing (since then I would basically be typing all of the time, which might get old after a while: "I'm typing now. Still typing ...")

I have an account, but only because one of the sites where I post my reviews has a thing where every time I post a new one, it gets announced on Twitter. Don't know if it helped me get any hits on the articles (which earns me money) but I don't do anything with it other than that.

I work in tech and do marketing and it is emerging as a very interesting communication vehicle. I am not interested in any teenager's micro-blogging, but it is a clever way to get out short bursts of information.
