Better that than by an imaginary person with someone else's reviews.

I threaten to turn over more if I don't get more votes! Wooohahaha! Although, I can not get votes with my reviews, some of my lamest reviews have gotten Alan Smithee 14 votes! I remember that when Alan was created, Benj said he might take him off the rankings if he was moving too far up and there was enough interest.

BTW, I do not understand many of his reviews. Expecially the one for 50 first dates, "Fifty-first state's comedy." As far as I can tell, there is no 51st state involved. The 51st state is not real, as there are only 50, unless you are pejoratively talking about Canada as the 51st state, or possibly talking of the province of Puerto Rico. Is there something I'm missing?

Now that you are back, you will easily get lots of votes. Reviews generally have a lot more votes now than they used to. It's not too late for you to take part in my Second Best or Third Best threads, for example, and Shiv will also soon be at your reviews in her dedicated quest.

Ah, really? I didn't know that. I've requested this often, but to no avail.

No, you're not missing anything. This is AussieCanuck's review. I think he Smitheed it (along with "Trans parent" and all of his Pitcairn reviews, on which I was in most cases the only voter) in order to attempt to rile me. He submitted it under the misapprehension that Hawai'i was the 51st state (despite the existence of the very well known Hawaii Five-O). Once he realised the error, he was under the impression that the pun compensated for the total inaccuracy.

I don't think I've given Smithee more than one or two reviews. I figure, if they're not good enough for me to keep on my list, then they aren't good enough to leave on the site.

You are at your most amusing whenever you're riled.

Just think about this, Salopian. The fact that Alan Smithee is above you is entirely your own doing. By being so notoriously easy to rile up, you gave others ammunition. You never fail to rise to the occasion! I've found that I make myself a difficult target by not letting things bother me and if they do, not showing it. I've found it gains me far more friends as an added bonus. Life is so much easier when you're not always annoyed about something.

How so? While it may be my fault that he has passed me since I am his biggest ghost writer, it's not Salopian's fault. For whatever reason, I was disatisfied with my reviews. Perhaps I thought they were witty but they weren't or perhaps a friend of mine wrote them because he was too lazy to get a fwfr account. I assure you though, I did not submit reviews to Alan Smithee because I wanted to get a rouse out of Salopian. Rather than delete a review, Benj has requested that people disown their reviews.

I was referring to the post Salopian made mentioning AC's major dump to Alan Smithee, not yours. Sorry for the confusion. I'm not even saying that AC did it just to annoy Salopian but that the fact that Salopian makes such a big deal out of it, he makes himself an easy target.

But I'm hardly going to shy away from standing up for principle in order to protect my own interests! People doing that in the past has led to very bad consequences.

Yep, but AussieCanuck's pettiness was not what made me behind Alan Smithee - as he points out, it was Mr. S.'s completely reasonable actions. Although I think he should have deleted those reviews, I do not really mind since his decision had a good foundation.

The Incredible Adventures of Salopiman

Is it a bird?

Is it a plane?

No! It's Salopiman, the new Superhero who, alone, stands between Alan Smithee and Total World Domination!

"Oh, Salopian, you are our hero!"

"Three cheers for Salopiman - hip, hip, hooray!!"

"Good Salopian, we humans are weak and understand little. You, on the other hand, understand everything! Please, rule over us! Help us with our lives in general and our grammar in particular!"

"A thousand curses, Salopiman!" spat Alan Smithee. "You've beat me this time, but I'll be back!"

"Then I must stay forever vigilant! The World is safe in my hands," replied our Superhero.

And they all lived happily ever after...

Or did they?

"Wake up, Salopian!"

"But I am Salopiman, the Superhero who has saved the world!"

"No, dear, you fell asleep, it was all just a little dream."

Not really sure what the Alan Smithee issue has got to do with grammar, but I am sure there must be a connection of some sort in napperworld.

Salopian, surely you aren't comparing your plight against Smithee with historical fights against world issues such as racism and communism? There is no principal of the matter, there is an opinion.

I always thought it was someone eating a mobile phone. I guess someone will have to ask Cheese_Ed.
