I acknowledge that whether to circumcise baby boys is a private decision.
This is clearly deeply culturally entrenched as being the case, but I am not sure that I agree. I just don't see how parents can have the right to cut off pieces of their children without specific medical reason. I abhor seeing babies with earrings, and having pierced ears is much more minor (both in terms of initial pain and long-term physical difference) than being circumcised.

Let me stop you right there. "Deeply culturally entrenched" is very right. That's why it is best for everyone to decide what's best for themselves and/or their children in this matter. It would also be best not to judge people for what they decide to do or not do.

You said exactly what I couldn't find words to say.
All I can say is that I'm glad I had a girl. I dont think I could have handled it. It's the parents decision weather or not to do what they think is right.
Is your kid's life going to be changed at all?? Any guy who goes around feeling like they missed out on something worth noticing because their parents had his dick snipped a little clearly doesn't have enough to do with their time.
