| I am in the process of packing and moving in to help care for my aunt as she faces lung cancer, after having recovered from 2 fairly serious strokes 3 years ago. As I'm moving in, my sister is moving out (don't ask...). It's making me crazy, since I was supposed to be out of this apartment almost 3 weeks ago, but I can't move till my sister does. So if I'm a bit schizophrenic, or even absent, don't think twice about it, I'll recover! |

| I'm sorry to hear about your aunt, and it sounds like you're going to have a rough time of it. Keep your sense of humor about you, as best you can and know there's some comic relief here on FWFR. All the best. |

Ditto to CL ... Sending big hugs WHL at this troubling time. And don't forget ... as some wise person once observed about a particularly bad build-up of gas: This too will pass.

Thanks to you both. I know it will be okay, it's just so blasted frustrating. All my good friends are suddenly hard to pin down and I have some heavy furniture (anyone know a good piano mover??). I'm surrounded by boxes, need probably 30 more to just finish boxing my books and last night, a candle fell off the bedside table and burned a huge hole in the carpet. I can cut a piece from the extra piece in the laundry room, but ... DAMN!!!

All the best whl. I've lost 2 uncles and my Father-in-law to cancer in the last 12 months. My Father-in-law was the hardest due him knowing that he would never meet his only grandson, thefoxcub. |

Sorry to hear about this, W.H.L. Moving can be stressful enough at the best of times, but it must be particularly weighing on you in these circumstances. It's nice of you and your sister to look after your aunt - plenty of people wouldn't in this day and age. |

I am sure he was delighted to know that he was on his way, though, and that your wife would have something so positive to focus on. |

Well, he was in hospital and he was the first to know that that his daughter was pregnant. We went to visit him and thefoxgirl whispered in his ear and the smile that came to his face is something that we will never forget. We didn't want to know the sex of the baby, but it was his request to know before he passed away, so we found out for him. He was over the moon to know that he had a grandson on the way, he already had a granddaughter.
He was a very hard time for thefoxgirl. |

If only Laurel & Hardy were still around!
Best of luck Livie. Just keep calm, and avoid bedside candles - you're lucky it was just the carpet!

If you lived in New England, I'd recommend Deathwish Piano Movers...no joke, that's really what they're called! They're quite reputable, but I don't know if they have any affiliates in your neck of the woods. They'd probably ship a piano from here TO Illinois if you were moving interstate, but I don't know if they'd go out there to pick it up and do a local move. |

Avoid "Acme Piano Movers" at all costs.
Good luck with everything: I'd help you myself if you weren't so far away. |
